Machining with the robot in parallel with the machine time

With the new SCHUNK tools for machining with the robot, workpieces can be automatically deburred directly after machining in the machine.

In the application example from the SCHUNK CoLab application center, a Fanuc robot guides a SCHUNK gripper combination. This grips a contoured steel component and guides it through three different machining steps. The tools are in fixed positions and the robot moves the product/component along with the respective contours for processing.

First, edges of the component are deburred. Then, drill holes are deburred (counterbored) and finally, the edges that are difficult to reach are filed. In the example, the radial flexibility of all tools is presented, guaranteeing a safe and at the same time flexible application.

With the RCV, CDB and CRT compliant deburring tools, a wide range of deburring tasks can be easily implemented.
